Ronald McDonald House Footsteps for Families Event Announces Sponsors

May 9, 2022— Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV) will host
their annual Footsteps for Families Walk Over the Hudson on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
McDonald’s Owners, Trefz Family Restaurants and Opstad Consolidated – McDonald’s,
supported the event as Platinum Sponsors. In addition, another local new non-profit, Love
Runneth Over, is also a Platinum Sponsor of the event this year.
This year marks the 4th year the event will be held at the Walkway Over the Hudson. Kicking
off on the Highland side for the first time, teams and participants will gather to walk the 1.28
miles from the Highland side of the Walkway to the Poughkeepsie side and return to the
Highland side to enjoy music by DJ Johnny G, activities – including face painting and Touch-A-
Trucks provided by Sponsors Central Hudson Gas & Electric and Highland Fire District and
food trucks which will include Flores Food Truck and The Cluck Truck.
The Trefz family restaurants have taken a leadership role in the building and sustainability of the
House since its inception. Paul Trefz, the owner of several restaurants throughout Dutchess
County, is currently Vice President of the RMHGHV Board of Directors and his daughter, Josie
Trefz, the owner of the Fishkill & Wappingers McDonald’s locations, serves as a board member.
Josie is also an active member of the Red Shoe Society Young Professionals Group at
RMHGHV. Dave Opstad, owner of Opstad Consolidated- McDonald’s owns and operates 13
restaurants throughout the Hudson Valley including Highland and Poughkeepsie locations.
Additional community sponsors include Hudson Valley Credit Union, Lolita’s Pizza, Schultz
Farm & Properties, J. Mullen & Sons, Inc. and many more. When families must travel far from

home to access the medical care their child needs, RMHGHV provides hope, help and a home-
away-from-home. Keeping families together and easing some of the emotional and financial
burdens they experience when faced with a child’s medical crisis. To register a team visit
