We hold this annual sporting clays event in the name of our late father Ernest C Trefz (1932-2017) Our father was a successful businessman, philanthropist, and avid outdoorsman. In 1964 along with his brother, Christian J Trefz, they opened their first McDonald’s Restaurant and founded Trefz Corporation, which is now owned by my brother, Chris Trefz, and myself. Together we own and operate McDonald’s Restaurants in New York and Connecticut. The Ernest C Trefz School of Business at the University of Bridgeport is named after our father, and helps to support future entrepreneurial students at the university. Dad and the entire family have been lifetime supporters of Ronald McDonald Houses in both Connecticut and New York.
