September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
A heartfelt thank you from Isabella, diagnosed in 2024 at the age of 17.
The Ronald McDonald House has been a true blessing during one of the most difficult times in our lives. As a patient, it means so much knowing my family has a warm, welcoming place to rest and heal, surrounded by people who care. But what means even more is how it’s helped my dad. Before we knew we could come to the House, he was cooking our meals on a tiny grill in the hospital parking lot, doing his best just to keep us fed. It broke my heart to see him out there, trying to make things work with so little. Now, thanks to the Ronald McDonald House, he has access to a full and comfortable kitchen where he can cook proper meals with dignity and love. We can sit together at a table, eat something warm, and for a little while, feel like we’re home. It’s more than just a place to stay. it’s a place where we’ve found comfort, hope, and the kindness of strangers who’ve become like family.
