September 27, 2022— Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV) is hosting the Dashing for Dylan Endurance Challenge, annual fundraising event in honor of Dylan J. Hoffman, for the entire month of September. The Dashing for Dylan Challenge will support the families at Ronald McDonald House located at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, NY.

The month-long event, which launched September 1st challenges participants to raise money and log miles while doing any activity, at any location and on any day for the month of September. Miles can be logged by walking, running, bike riding, skating, dancing or any kind of exercise. The goal for the Dashing for Dylan Challenge is to move 6,000 miles and  raise $80,000.

“The Hoffman family of Wilton, CT, was one of the first families to stay at Ronald McDonald House when it first opened in 2011, shortly after the birth of their son Dylan. The Hoffman’s stayed at the Ronald McDonald House for a total of 77 nights during three different stays over Dylan’s very short life that lasted a little more than three years,” said Christina Riley, Executive Director RMHGHV. ” Since his passing in 2014, the family continues to keep his memory alive and celebrate Dylan’s life by hosting this event, in conjunction with the House, in an effort to raise awareness and funds and continue to support families like theirs who require the services of Ronald McDonald House.”

A Family Fun Day celebration and grand finale of the month-long challenge will take place on Sunday, October 2nd  at Crawford Park in Rye Brook. Families and participants can enjoy a fun-filled day of kid centered family activities such as face painting, obstacle courses, bounce house, ornament decorating, BBQ, raffles, giveaways, music and more.

DARCARS Automotive Group, with locations in Mt. Kisco and Greenwich will be this year’s Platinum Sponsor for the event and will be on hand showcasing some cars at Family Fun Day. “Every year we look forward to  hosting  this event and bringing the community together to honor Dylan’s memory and continue to ensure we can support families like the Hoffman’s”  added  Riley. “The funds we raise truly make a difference in the lives of the families we serve so we encourage everyone to and get out there, have fun and join the challenge.”All proceeds will support the families and children who call Ronald McDonald House home and all donations made are 100 percent tax deductible.  To register or for more information visit www.rmh-ghv.org
