The Fritz Family

A year ago, at the age of 11 months, my granddaughter was flown to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in renal shutdown. She had spent the first year of her life in and out of ICU. We knew she needed a higher level of care than she had received close to our home. However, the stress of being 8 hours away from family, friends, and anything familiar was overwhelming.

The doctor who arranged the baby’s transfer told us about the wonderful program Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley has. In a very short time we would all find out how true that is. Not only was the Ronald McDonald House right on the medical campus, but we were provided with meals, laundry facilities, and most importantly, sincere caring staff members who worked tirelessly to make sure our physical and emotional needs were addressed. Within a week of our sweet baby girl being transferred to the hospital, she would go through two majors surgeries in order to stabilize her condition. The entire stay, we always knew there would be a clean room, a warm meal, and caring supportive staff at the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley.

A year has gone by and, once again, my beautiful granddaughter is in need of highly specialized care. Without fail, Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley is here to give us the support we need to be able to care for her without the stress of added concerns over our own physical needs. We are so incredibly grateful for the compassion and support that has been extended to our family. Without Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley, our ability to give my granddaughter the love and attention she needs and deserves would be so greatly limited. Saying “thank you” just seems so inadequate. We will forever be grateful for the support and compassion extended to us in our most stressful time of need!

With deepest gratitude,
The Fritz Family
